SURPRISE!

Yesterday morning, I shuffled into work, hollered out "Good Morning!" to my coworkers that work down the hall and opened my office door. That is when I saw this:

love the card!

How nice is that?! The ladies in my office (all THREE of them) had Top Pot doughnuts waiting for me and we had a nice little shower! Peanut got a little yellow zippy and bib (complete with my company logo, of course...gotta start 'em young!) and a little PINK onesie, since that is their official guess to what Peanut is :). We also got the diaper genie...one of the key elements that was missing from our nursery!

Looking forward to a FOUR day weekend, thanks to a flex day I'm taking tomorrow. The weekend is busy though! I have my last baby shower, and it's my wonderful friend Kim's wedding, so I will be busy with that along with the rehearsal/dinner the day before. My feet have been rather swollen lately, so I am beginning OPERATION DEBLOAT today...drinking tons of water, staying away from salt, sticking to my nightly baths and elevating my feet. I'd *really* like to wear some gold heals just for pictures and for the wedding ceremony, but right now, my feet in heels look like sausages that have been stuffed in casings that are entirely too tight. I'm also hoping that a massage and pedicure tomorrow will help also. I better prepare for the worst though and go out and get some gold flats, just in case. I'm really hoping the photographer will have mercy on me and strategically cover my enormous belly, flabby arms and 2 of my 3 chins.

Then, just a 4 day work week next week and then I am working from home until the baby makes it's appearance! It will be nice just wearing my sweats instead of the 10 work outfit maternity rotation I have going on. Plus, if I have to hear, "you still haven't had that baby yet?! How much longer???" any more, I might just smack someone. ;)

Also, don't forget to place your bet in the baby stats poll. Just click the link below...Only one week left!

So close!

I almost made it through the whole pregnancy with out the dreaded stranger-touching-the-belly incident. Over the weekend, we went to Lucia Italian Restaurant (food rating= B-) in Kirkland for a surprise 31st birthday party. After about 3 hours, my feet had more water in them than the Atlantic and I told the Hubs it was time to go so I could get into my nightly bath. On our way out, we stopped in the bar to say goodbye to some friends and then it happened. Not only did a stranger go right for my belly, but IT WAS A MAN! Ahh! So unexpected! He took his two giant man hands and stroked my belly. I nervously looked for the Hubs to get all primal and protective of his young spawn, and spotted him drinking a shot of Jager with his brother. Thanks babe. It felt like it lasted forever--actual time: probably 1.7 seconds, but still so weird. Yet another reason why pregnant women should not go to bars.

In other news, I had our 36 week appointment yesterday and Peanut is measuring at 37 weeks and heartbeat is strong! No dilatation and baby still needs to come down a bit, so we have some time. The big shocker was I haven't gained any more weight since my appointment two weeks ago! Woohoo! Don't get me wrong, I'm definitely not trying to lose weight, I just really don't need to gain anymore. I'm sure I can attribute it to the chicken incident, and not my healthy eating habits. Any way, we are on weekly appointments now, so hopefully we start seeing little bits of progress!

Buh Bye Chicken!

Ick. That is the only word I have to describe my weekend. It started on Friday at work, where I started feeling a little queasy. I quickly finished up my work and left a couple hours early to get some R & R. I tossed and turned Friday night, with intermittent jumps out of bed and sprints to the bathroom, thinking I was going to get sick...but I didn't. Odd.

The Hubs and I had to wake up fairly early on Saturday to attend our all day childbirth preparation class. I was still feeling nauseous, but seeing as the class was non-refundable, I soldiered on. To add insult to injury, it was an absolutely gorgeous 70 degree spring day. We get into the class, which was filled with couples-- one in particular was incredibly annoying. Ok, I need to stop here and rant. Sometimes I am shocked by the public persona that people allow themselves to have. During introductions, we were supposed to give our name, what we do for a living and anything in particular we want to learn from the class. The woman in front of us volunteers to start. You know how there are some people whom you just know are cocky fools before they even open their mouths? Ummm...she was one of them. "I'm (insert name, I was too tired to have paid attention) and this is my husband (poor sap). I am a criminal prosecutor and it's a good thing I don't recognize any of you who have ever been in my courtroom. I want my husband to learn how to go through labor without pissing me off." I'm pretty sure I just sat there stunned while the Hubs had to pick his jaw up off the ground. I automatically earned the title of "Wife of the Year" just for not being that crazy b*tch.

Anywho, we found the class to be quite helpful. I was surprisingly more freaked out than the Hubs was during the class. He kept looking over to me and saying, "are you ok?" All in all, I think we both know a little more of what to expect.

Halfway during the class, I heard some rumblings in the belly. The rumblings turned into what can only be referred to as 'gurgles'. Subsequently, I spent quite some time in the ladies room...so gross. So what was it? FOOD POISONING! I just started eating chicken again, because I'm trying to give Peanut more protein. I only buy free range organic chicken from Trader Joes and I can blame this particular sickness on the "pre-cooked" chicken breasts I bought for my Chicken and Cucumber Noodle Salad I made for dinner on Thursday night. So, need less to say, I'm done with chicken and the Hubs knows way more about me than I'm sure he ever wanted to. But seriously, I have the best Hubs in the whole world. It's amazing how it can take something so disgusting to make you realize that.

I had to miss my wonderful friend Mama Kim's bachelorette party Saturday night, instead, I layed on the couch being force fed liquids by the Hubs. I'm feeling much better today..even though I feel like I got cheated out of a weekend. But the worst is over and in roughly one month (!) Peanut will be here!

It's Rough Being Pregnant

At my most recent Doctor's appointment, she asked about my swelling. I told her that I have good days and bad days, but it's been pretty much a daily occurrence. She said while she's not concerned with preeclampsia (my blood pressure is nice and low), she does want me to get it under control. How you might ask? I have to take a nice warm bath every night (preferably one with jets) and get regular massages--Doctor's orders. Life is good. :)

Who's gonna fess up?!?

Today I got home from work to find a package sitting on my front porch, addressed to me. I racked my brain for what I bought online lately...I couldn't think of anything. I called the Hubs to see if he was expecting a package and he said no, so I went ahead and opened it. To my surprise, this is what I found:

Absolutely hilarious!!! Look familiar? How about now:

In case you can't tell, or if you haven't seen the movie Baby Mama, its a pregnant belly mug! Inside there was no note, no return info, no packing list, but was indeed addressed to me.

So please, come forward and reveal yourself, random-pregnant-mug-giving-friend :)

PS--Thank you! I love it :)

My Little Night Owl

After a very busy weekend, Sunday night left this mama exhausted! The Hubs and I watched the end of the Mariner game in bed and while we were both tired, little Peanut was wide awake! We had a good hour of *very* active movements! Here is a clip of my little baseball fan:

Another Bump Progression...

Here is the bump today, at 33 weeks, 1 day:

And just to compare to past pink shirt bump shots:

(20 weeks)

(29 weeks)

Now I understand when people say, "you still have 7 more weeks?!" :) Today is the Hub's family baby shower--can't wait!
