For all of you "Twi-hards"....

I have a very fun job, for a very fun company. Most of the readers of this blog know where I work and what I do, so I won't elaborate for fear of Big Brother conducting some Internet search and stumbling upon this blog...but I want to post a picture of what is hung on my office door right now:Isn't Bella even more beautiful than you remember? :)

I've never seen any of the Twilight movies, but I do a lot of marketing around them...hence why it is on my office door! : ) This is my last day of working in my office. For the rest of my pregnancy, I will be working from home. It will be so nice wearing my sweats, not wearing makeup, being able to pee every 10 minutes without judgement...It's so strange to think that the next time I'm here, I'll be someone's mommy...
It's also exactly 2 weeks until Peanut's due date. I have a sneaking suspicion that Peanut is very happy where it is and will be taking his/her sweet time before making an appearance.

SURPRISE!

Yesterday morning, I shuffled into work, hollered out "Good Morning!" to my coworkers that work down the hall and opened my office door. That is when I saw this:

love the card!

How nice is that?! The ladies in my office (all THREE of them) had Top Pot doughnuts waiting for me and we had a nice little shower! Peanut got a little yellow zippy and bib (complete with my company logo, of course...gotta start 'em young!) and a little PINK onesie, since that is their official guess to what Peanut is :). We also got the diaper genie...one of the key elements that was missing from our nursery!

Looking forward to a FOUR day weekend, thanks to a flex day I'm taking tomorrow. The weekend is busy though! I have my last baby shower, and it's my wonderful friend Kim's wedding, so I will be busy with that along with the rehearsal/dinner the day before. My feet have been rather swollen lately, so I am beginning OPERATION DEBLOAT today...drinking tons of water, staying away from salt, sticking to my nightly baths and elevating my feet. I'd *really* like to wear some gold heals just for pictures and for the wedding ceremony, but right now, my feet in heels look like sausages that have been stuffed in casings that are entirely too tight. I'm also hoping that a massage and pedicure tomorrow will help also. I better prepare for the worst though and go out and get some gold flats, just in case. I'm really hoping the photographer will have mercy on me and strategically cover my enormous belly, flabby arms and 2 of my 3 chins.

Then, just a 4 day work week next week and then I am working from home until the baby makes it's appearance! It will be nice just wearing my sweats instead of the 10 work outfit maternity rotation I have going on. Plus, if I have to hear, "you still haven't had that baby yet?! How much longer???" any more, I might just smack someone. ;)

Also, don't forget to place your bet in the baby stats poll. Just click the link below...Only one week left!

Work Update!

Just to update the three of you who read this blog regarding how the conversation yesterday went with my new boss (I'll refer to her as Lady Boss, as she the first woman I've ever had as a boss since I started working for Big, Bad, Corporate America)...it could not have gone better! After I revealed "the news" she starting clapping and said "Yay! That is so great!" She went on to tell me that she has seventeen month old twins and how all of the women in the office have kids. She also said how she couldn't wait to hear all about it when we get stuff for the nursery, etc. How cool is that? SUCH a relief! But the best part was (are you ready for this?!) that she hoped I would take advantage of our flex hours like she does. This means I would have every other Friday off so I can "go shopping and get a pedicure." Lady Boss, you know my language!

In other news, I have another Dr. appointment on Thursday where she planned to do another ultrasound. I'm not sure if they will since I just had the NT ultrasound two weeks ago, but I won't stop her! I would love to get another look at Peanut!

It's out there!

I'm not talking about Sasquatch or the Loch Ness Monster. I'm talking about the news that we are having a baby (duh!).

We have told our closest friends, all whom were very happy for us and yesterday at the UW football game, (where our beloved Huskies kicked some Cal Bear butt!) the news spread even more. I must confess, this was my first Husky football game where I was stone-cold-sober. It was a different experience to say the least. Not only was it a balmy 30 degrees, but we had a nice wind come through that really gave a chill that went straight to the bone. But I was prepared:

UW sweater (check)
down vest (check)
hat (check)
gloves (check)
hand warmers (check)
wool socks (check)
fleece blanket (check)
cocktail to keep me warm (unless Vitamin water counts...then no..)

I wised up in the second half and got a decaf mocha...holy relief! It was fun sharing the news with our friends, but I have butterflies already for what is going to happen tomorrow. I emailed my new boss, the one I've met only once and that was at my interview, and asked for her to save some time for me to come by tomorrow to discuss some "logistics" regarding the new position I'll be starting January 1st. You know, logistical things such as, my office, cell phone, expense reports, my pregnancy, me taking a chunk of time off six months in to my position...you know, small, insignificant details. I'm incredibly nervous because I am so excited to start this new job, but I am even more excited about having this baby and I want my boss to feel confident that she made the right choice, pregnancy and all. Wish me luck!
